Curtis Pins Down Athlete Of The Week Honors

Eatonville Sports News would like to congratulate Eatonville Cruiser Taylor Curtis on being named the Eatonville Sports News Winter Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of February 11th – February 17th .

Taylor, a senior on the Eatonville HS Girls Wrestling team, had a great weekend of wrestling last week. On Saturday at the Mat Classic State tournament she was 1 of only 3 girls in Eatonville HS history to move on to the 2nd day of the tournament and she finished in the top 12 in state. Taylor followed that up the very next day by placing 1st at the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Washington State Championships. Taylor pinned 3 of her 4 opponents to take the title. The one opponent she didn’t pin, was injured in the match and couldn’t continue.

Athlete of the Week winners receive their choice of a shake, cone, or smoothie courtesy of the Cruiser Café​ or $5 worth of frozen yogurt from Malibu Frozen Yogurt.

Weekly winners are also then eligible for the Athlete of the Month award which is a $25 Gift Certificate from either Cruiser Café or Malibu Frozen Yogurt, a hand-made Cruiser themed quilt courtesy of Alyssa Wood, and a Cruiser themed tumbler cup courtesy of Junk Drawer Crafts.
