Lady Cruisers Keep Rolling Over Opponents

The Eatonville High School Fastpitch team continued to dominate their opponents last week. In the four games they played, they outscored their opponents 75-13 to walk away with wins in each game.

The Cruisers kicked off a grueling four day schedule when they played host to the Steilacoom Sentinels. Mary Chabot was clutch at the plate for the Cruisers with runners on base on Monday as she drove in four runs on the day. She would drive in two runs in the 1st inning after reach base on an error. She would drive in a couple more in the 3rd inning on a hard line drive to left. She would also swipe four bases on the day.

Ashley Hedrick and Haley Rath would supply the long ball in the game. Hedrick’s home run would come first in the 3rd inning on a 1-0 pitch that she sent over the center field fence. Rath would strike next in the 4th inning when she took the first pitch she saw deep over the fence in center field.

The Cruisers would go on to take the win 19-5. Haley Olson would get the win for the Cruisers.

The team would pack up the following day and head to Lakewood to take on the Clover Park Warriors. The Cruisers would put this game out of reach for Clover Park before the Warriors had a chance to swing the bat. Eatonville would put up 10 runs in the first inning. Then put up 17 more the next inning. Mary Chabot would again have the hot bat. She would drive in 7 runs on the day on a double and a pair of singles to help lead the Lady Cruisers to a 29-0 win.

Haley Olson would throw a one hit shutout for the Cruisers to pick up her ninth win of the season.

After the offensive explosion against the Warriors, the Cruisers returned home to host the Tenino Beavers in a non-league affair.

Berkley Porter would get the start and win for the Cruisers that saw the bottom part of their line up coming up big in the game. Brooklynn Lucht, Mary Chabot, Kaitlyn Rath, Dakota Smith and Ashley Hedrick would all have multiple hits in the game to help lead the Cruisers over the Beavers by a score of 12-5.

Eatonville would finish off the week heading to Cardinal country to pay visit to their longtime rivals, The Orting Cardinals.

The Cruisers would tack on seven runs in the first inning to put the game away. Dakota Smith and Haley Rath would both hit home runs in the game to help propel that Lady Cruisers to a 15-3 win.

After last week’s games, the Cruisers now sit at 13-1 overall and in the top spot in league play with an 8-0 record. They have scored a total of 224 runs this season which is more runs scored than any other 2A school in the state. Their 13 wins puts them in a tie with one other 2A school for the most wins in the state of Washington.
