Spring Sports Senior Spotlight - Track and Field

This is the sixth and final installment in a series of articles in the coming weeks where I will be spotlighting the Eatonville High School spring sports seniors who have had their seasons cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A different team will be the focus each week. This is just my way of honoring these amazing student/athletes since they can’t be out there playing the sports they love, and I can’t be out their watching and reporting on them. – Skip Smith

This week the spotlight will be on the seniors from the Eatonville HS track and field team. The seniors on the team are Alex Brymer, Cayden Chohrach, Caleb Eisenhooth, Lathan Frantz, Lexi Miller, Zac Root, Nic Sawyer, Trevor Schier, Aaron Schmidt, Jolee Thirtyacre, Morgan Tilley, and Lukas Wolfe.

Head coach Geoff Olson was happy to say a few words about his departing seniors.

Alex Brymer

This would have been Alex’s second year doing track and he was coming into the season with a hard working attitude and was looking for a great season.

Cayden Chohrach

Cayden started late and was really excited and looking forward to seeing what he could have done this year.

Caleb Eisenhooth

Caleb transferred to us from Bonney Lake HS. He is a shot put and discus thrower who took 7th at the 3A state championships last year and was looking to make a real mark for himself at the 2A level. I was extremely happy with his work ethic and motivation coming into this season.

Lathan Frantz

Lathan was new to track this year and was looking to do some positive things as a senior before graduation.

Lexi Miller

This would have been her second year on the track team, and I must say one of the nicest and hardest workers. Lexi is coming off 7th place at districts last year in the high jump and was looking to make a trip to the state meet and I was really looking to see her achieve this goal.

Zac Root

Competing next year in college has been a goal for Zach for a long time and having him compete in cross country this fall really helped him understand what it takes to compete at a high level and push himself to the limits that very few achieve. Zach was going to really help us this year.

Nic Sawyer

Nic is another second year track guy. Here is an athlete that could compete in multiple events. Nic is a strong hard worker that was really looking for a great season to help the team and his PR's.

Trevor Schier

Trevor would have been a four year varsity letter winner for us. He is a silent assassin who just keeps working and working and getting better every year. Looking at his PR's from the last 3 years he has made huge improvements and that goes to show what type of athlete he is and his work ethic.

Aaron Schmidt

This would have been Aaron’s second year on the team who with some extra help had a great 1st year and was even working really had this year. He has an infectious smile and a great sense of humor that makes everyone around him happier. Aaron was going to have a great season and we will definitely miss him on the shot put ring.

Jolee Thirtyacre

Jolee would was a first year track athlete coming off a great swimming season. She was going to be a really good pole vaulter for us. She was working hard and learning so much. I just wish she had more time to really get better at it.

Morgan Tilley

Morgan was another four year track athlete. She was a hard worker and really loved being a thrower. She was looking for a great season and was well on her way to achieve her goals.

Lukas Wolfe

Lukas was our final four year varsity athlete He was and is an amazing kid. A hard worker who was coming off of a 7th place finish at the state meet in the high jump and was working all winter long on his craft. I really feel he could have placed even higher, possibly top 5 at state this year. Lukas was also coming into the season healthy and raring to go big.

Coach Olson finished by saying “All of our seniors will be missed, and I wish we could have seen them compete this year”.
