Cruiser Track & Field Has Great Day At League Championship

After a successful season, both the boys and girls track teams had very impressive showings at the 1A Evergreen League Championship meet this past Friday.

Teams from the five schools in the league competed at Montesano High School in hopes of qualifying for the 1A Southwestern Washington District 4 meet that will be held Thursday May 18th at Seton Catholic High School in Vancouver, WA.

Eatonville had a very successful showing with 30 athletes qualifying for the district meet.

The Cruisers had seven athletes and two relay teams capture league championships on the day and qualify for the district championships. Those athletes/teams were Ky Nation in the 100m, Kyle Cox in the Shot Put, and Logan Taylor in the High Jump. In addition, the 4x100m relay team of Cole Bamford, Walker Bruun, Riley Hill, and Ky Nation also won a league title. For the girls, Hannah Hanson in the 100M, Lily Lightfoot in the 100m Hurdles, Brooke Blocker in the Javelin, Hannah Kralik in the Pole Vault. In addition, the 4x400m relay team of Haley Courson, Rilynne Johnson, Davany Olson, and Sienna Henkel.

The boys’ team also captured the overall league team championship with the girls finishing second place.
