Cruiser Baseball Scoring Outburst Halts Patriots

The Eatonville Cruiser baseball team scored first and often as they took down the Washington Patriots 25-3 this past Friday.


Cooper Field had a great day at the plate with 3 hits with two of them being doubles. He would also drive in four runs while scoring four himself.


Blain Hanly would also collect three hits for the Cruisers including a double and a triple. He was a home run away from hitting for the cycle. Hanly would score three times while driving in three more runs on the day.


Also picking up three hits on the day was Jakob Lucht. He would also drive in two runs as well.


On the mound, Payton Hanly, Riley Storm, and Blain Hanly would combine to throw a one hitter against the Patriots. They would record a total of 13 strikeouts combined, with Payton Hanly picking up 7 of those strike out in his 2-2/3 innings of work.


Earlier in the week, the Cruisers would take on their rivals the Orting Cardinals and come away with a 7-1 victory.


Blain Hanly picked up the win for the Cruisers. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out two. Riley Taylor and Jakob Lucht entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.


At the plate, Hanly would hit two doubles on the day driving in two of the Cruiser runs.


The Cruisers would then head to Osbourne Field in Enumclaw to play a night game under the lights against the Enumclaw Hornets.


The Cruisers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Enumclaw, giving up 12 runs and eventually losing the game 12-1.


Skylar Sarpy started the game on the mound for Eatonville. Sarpy surrendered 11 runs on four hits over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one. Jakob Lucht and Riley Storm entered the game in relief, throwing two and a third innings and one inning respectively.


Ashton Meyer and Blain Hanly each managed one hit to lead the Cruisers.
