Cruiser Sports Shorts
Here is a rundown of other Cruiser sports this past week.
Swimming
On Thursday the Cruisers hosted the Shelton Highclimbers. The Highclimbers would best the Cruisers by a score of 103-67. Olivia White would be the only Cruiser to pick up a win on the day. White would break her school record she set last year in the 200M IM and would take the top spot of the podium in the 200M Individual Medley and the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Volleyball
It was a rough 2nd week of play for the Cruisers. On Monday they were shutout by the Rainier Mountaineers 3 sets to zero and then on Thursday were again shutout 3 sets to none by the Toledo Indians. They hope to bounce back this coming week with a match on Tuesday against the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves.
Boys Tennis
The Cruisers lost their only match this past week to the Shelton Highclimbers 4 matches to 2. Winning their matches for the Cruisers were freshman Brody Thirtyacre and the doubles combo of Gavin Vander Hoek and Jaiden Sobczyk. They look to bounce back this coming week with 3 matches against Centralia (Monday), Tumwater (Wednesday), and Aberdeen (Friday).
Girls Soccer
The Cruisers would play to a 1-1 draw against rival Orting this past Monday. Kennedy Knoble would pick up the lone goal for the Cruisers. The following day they would fall to the Vashon Pirates 5-1 with Michelle Kahler picking up the Cruiser goal on a penalty kick. They would close the week out on Saturday with a scoreless draw against the Cascade Christian Cougars.
Cross Country
The boy’s team would take the overall team win in their meet in Hoquiam this past Thursday against all other league teams: Hoquiam, Tenino, Elma and Montesano. The top runner for Eatonville was Joey Mueller who took third place. For the girls, Cheyenne Price finished a strong 6th, with Aubrey Meadows right on her heels at 9th.
