Cruiser Track & Field Shine At League Championships

The Eatonville Cruiser track & field teams finished up their 2021 season this past Friday evening at the SPSL 2A League Championships at Franklin Pierce HS.

The boys’ team would capture the league title while the girls would finish mid pack with a 6th place finish.

On the boys’ side, Senior Cameron Hatler would continue his dominate ways as he would win both the 1600 and 3200M meter races.

Also capturing wins for the Cruisers were Adam Jensen in the Javelin, Jager Roulst in the High Jump and Long Jump, and Bryce Thirtyacre in the Pole Vault.

Roulst’s 20 feet 11.5 inches in the long jump was enough to put him in 4th place in the school record books and Jensen’s 172 feet 10 inches in the Javelin now puts him 6th all time in school history.

Finishing a mere four one hundredths from victory was the Cruiser 4x100 meter relay team of Antonio Accarino, Nic Bond, Job Kralik, and Austin Wicker. They would finish with a time of 44.54 to Steilacoom’s 44.50. Their 44.54 would be a mere 1.04 seconds off the school record set by Ray Springer, Josiah Hotz, Zarak Scruggs and Logan Moose back in 2016.

Job Kralik would finish a close second in the 100 meter race with a time of 11.74. That time puts him in 5th place in the Cruiser record books and only .46 seconds behind the record holder Zarak Scruggs (10.89).

For the girls, Sadie Schier would fall six inches short of picking up first place in the Javelin with a throw of 90 feet 6 inches.

Alex Lambert would wrap up a seconds place by jumping 7 feet 6 inches in the pole vault.

Alexia Price would pick up third place finishes in both the 1600 and 3200 meter races. She would move up to 4th place in school history with her time of 5:40.84 in the 1600 and in the 3200, her time of 12:41.00 would place her in the 8th position all time in the school record books.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Emily Bennet, Sadie Schier, Alivia Bertram, and Kennedy Noble would record their best time of the season at 54.33 seconds to nail down third place and cement their names in 8th place in the school record books.

Congratulations to all the Cruiser track & field athletes on a great season!
