Cruiser Track Has A Great Showing At State

The Eatonville Cruiser track team had a very nice showing at this weekend's 2022 WIAA State Track & Field meet in Cheney, WA.

The Cruisers sent 8 athletes to compete in various events and overall the team came away with a 13th place finish out of 43 schools by scoring 29 points. The overall winner, Connell High School finished with 59 points.

The top finisher for the Cruisers was Job Kralik who finished in third place in the 100M Dash. Kralik’s time of 11.24 was.08 seconds off his personal best time of 11.16 seconds that he set in the preliminaries a few days earlier. Kralik would record another top 5 finish in the 200M Dash and the Long Jump.

In the 200M finals, Kralik’s time of 22.81 was fast enough to secure him a 5th place finish. That time was only .18 seconds off his school record he set at the SWW 1A District IV Championships a week earlier. That school record (22.63), which was held by Ben Tugend, had stood for 15 years.

Kralik would also wrap up another 5th place finish, this time in the Long Jump with a personal best jump of 21-03.75. That jump also propelled him up to 3rd overall on the Eatonville HS record list.

Junior Kyle Cox would compete in two events at the meet and come away with a couple of podium finishes as well.

In the Shot Put, Cox would make a throw of 46-03.25 to claim a 5th place finish. In the Discus, he would walk away with a 6th place finish with a throw of 135-11, which would be a personal best and would land him in 5th place overall on the Eatonville HS record list.

Tristan Lewis would also podium with a 7th place finish in the Discus. His throw of 134-08 would also be a personal best and pace him in the 6th spot on the Eatonville HS record list.

Austin Wicker would compete in the 400M Dash and would pick up a 9th place finish with a time of 53.38.

Jake Wood would compete in both the Discus and Javelin at the State meet. His Javelin throw of 138-07 would grab him a 10th place finish while his throw of 107-03 in the Discus would land him a 15th place finish.

In the Pole Vault, Eatonville would send two athletes to compete, Ethan Carter and Alex Lambert.

Carter’s vault of 11-00.00 would be good enough to secure a 12th place finish while Lambert’s mark of 7-00.00 would land her a 16th place finish.

In the 1600M race, Eatonville's Joseph Mueller’s time of 5.08.06 would place him in 17th overall.
