Cruisers Crush Beavers, Improve to 8-1
The bomb show continued this past week for the Lady Cruiser softball team as they hit five more home runs and picked up two more wins, this time over league opponent Tenino, to improve to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in Evergreen League play.
The Cruisers would take on Tenino in a double-header this past Thursday with Eatonville coming away with 7-5 and 13-3 victories.

Hailey Rath and Berkeley Porter would continue the Cruiser home run show with Rath slugging three more and Porter with two. Those five home runs help extend the Cruisers team total to 24 home runs in nine games and lead the state. The next closest team is 4A Puyallup with 17 home runs.
In game one, Sarah Smith would get the call on the bump for the Cruisers and the righty would go eight innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits while striking out 8 Beaver hitters.
In game two, Porter would take the ball and go 6 innings, only allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 6 strikeouts.
The Cruisers will head to Yelm on Tuesday to take on the Yelm Tornados (8-3) in a non-league game at 4:00 pm, before ending the week at home by hosting the White River Hornets (7-2) on Friday at 4:00 pm and then making up a rained out game on Saturday against the Tenino Beavers (2-9) at noon.
