The Eatonville Cruisers split their dual meet with Fife on Wednesday, April 15, at Fife High School, with the boys edging out a close victory while the girls team ran into a deep Trojans squad.

The boys team beat Fife 74-71, earning the win with strong results across sprints, distance races, relays, and field events. The girls team lost 103-46 but still picked up several event wins and many personal records across the roster.

For the boys, Eatonville leaned on strong performances from upperclassmen and a steady stream of depth points throughout the meet. Rogue Pound had one of the most complete outings of the day, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 17.04 seconds, taking first in the long jump at 19 feet, 3 inches, and claiming the javelin title with a personal best throw of 149 feet, 11 inches. His versatility across events played a major role in the team result.

In distance races, Titus Lowe won the 1600 meters in 5:18.16, while Gabriel Kolsrud added a first-place finish in the 3200 meters at 10:39.77. Kolsrud also placed second in the 800 meters, showing endurance across multiple races. Steven Haas added a personal best in the 1600 meters, finishing second at 5:19.02.

The Cruisers also found success in sprint and relay events. The 4x100 relay team of Oscar Lopez-Diaz, Steven Haas, Phillip Buchholz, and Jacob Simons took first in 45.43 seconds. Lopez-Diaz also placed highly individually, finishing second in the 400 meters at 55.07 seconds and sixth in the 200 meters with a season best time of 24.76.

In the field events, Eatonville picked up key points across the board. Mason Kinley won the shot put at 39 feet, 11 inches, while Adam Ames earned first in the discus with a personal best throw of 142 feet even. Ames’ performance highlighted a strong day for the throwing group, which also included multiple personal records from teammates across both shot put and discus.

The boys pole vault also proved to be a strength, with Teagan Croppi and Connor Austin each clearing 9 feet to tie for first place. Eatonville added more points in the high jump, where David McClain placed second at 5 feet, 6 inches.

On the girls side, Eatonville was led by several standout individual performances despite the team loss. Kalli Olson had a strong sprint double, winning the 100 meters in 14.19 seconds and the 200 meters in 29.33 seconds. Ciana Hover also contributed top finishes in the sprints, placing second in the 100 meters and 200 meters.

The girls relay teams provided some of the day’s best results. The 4x100 relay team of Avery Crowder, Ava Tatro, Kalli Olson, and Ciana Hover won in 55.09 seconds. The 4x200 relay squad also earned a second-place finish in 2:03.80, showing continued depth in sprint relays.

In hurdles, Lily Lightfoot captured a win in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.82 seconds, while also adding a victory in the triple jump with a mark of 27 feet, 1 inch. Lightfoot’s performance gave Eatonville one of its most consistent multi-event efforts of the meet.

Ava Tatro added another win in the field events, taking first in the pole vault at 6 feet, 6 inches and placing second in the long jump at 12 feet, 5.5 inches. Eatonville also saw strong contributions in throws, with Porcalynn Hayes placing third in the shot put at 23 feet, 11 inches and Taylor Johnson adding a third-place finish in the discus.

Distance runner Tymbre Green placed second in the 800 meters in 3:06.59 and later added a fourth-place finish in the 1600 meters, helping anchor the Cruisers in the middle-distance races. In the 3200 meters, Hannah Bieker finished second in 13:37.49, leading a group of Eatonville runners who kept pace in the longer events.

While Fife controlled the overall team scoring on the girls side, Eatonville continued to build momentum with personal records and strong individual performances across nearly every event group.

The Cruisers will look to carry that mix of depth and top-end performances into their next meet as the season continues.

Eatonville’s next meet will be Thursday, April 23, when the Cruisers head to Cardinal Country to face their rivals from Orting.
