Cruisers Walk Away With Win

The Cruisers hadn’t played a game since 2019 and were eager to get a game in and it showed. They would jump on the Cardinals in the first inning and never looked back as they held on for a 15-8 victory last Monday.

It was just great to be on the field again, “Head Coach Mike Moeller exclaimed.

“It was first time since the District Playoffs back in May 2019 for my upperclassmen, and first high school game ever for my underclassmen. It felt good” continued Moeller.

Eatonville would draw a total of 19 free bases on the day with 14 of those being walks. Combine those with some timely hitting and you have a recipe for success.

Freshman Cooper Field would lead the Cruisers by going 2-2 with a double, walking twice, driving in 3 runs, and scoring run. He would also swipe 3 bases on the day.

Junior E.J. McMains would pick up a couple of hits for the Cruisers as well going 2-5 and driving in a run.

With it being the first game of the season, the Cruisers went with a team effort on the mound. They would use a total of 9 pitchers on the day to help secure the win.

“It was a good first game, was able to throw 9 different pitchers and get them all some work.” A happy Moeller said.

Junior Riley Taylor would start the game for the Cruisers and pick up the win.

After a couple of game cancellations later in the week, the Cruisers look to keep things rolling this week as they take on Orting(Monday), Enumclaw(Tuesday), and Washington(Friday). All 3 games are away games and start at 4 pm with the exception of the Enumclaw game, it will be a 7 pm start.
