Eatonville Cross Country Sends Seven Runners To State Meet

After having a successful season, the Eatonville Cruiser cross country team would end 6 runners to the State Cross Country meet that was held this past Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco, WA. In the 1A classification, a total of 363 runners would compete in the boys' and girls' races.

Eatonville would send five girls, Grace Coonrod, Cheyanne Price, Bridget Stumph, Susanna Stumph, and Abigail Simpson. The Cruisers would also send two boys, Joe Mueller and Colton Rush to the meet as well.

For the girls, Grace Coonrod would finish in29th place with a time of 21:01.40. Cheyanne Price would finish in 103rd with a time of 23:35:10. Bridget Stumph would take 137th in a time of 25:12.50 and Susanna Stumph would take 151st with a time of 27:56.00. Abigail Simpson would not compete due to sickness.

For the boys, Joe Mueller would improve on his 69th place finish he received last year at state with a 29th place finish this year in a time of 18:25.60, and Colton Rush, competing in his first state meet would finish in 94th place with a time of 18:48.00.

Coach Geoff Olson was very proud of how his team competed this season.

"I am extremely proud of all of them, They had a great season. All the kids ran awesome and proved they belong at the state meet."

With five of the seven runners returning next season, the Cruisers should have another great season and hope to send these runners and more to the state meet in 2023.
