Eatonville Cross Country Sweeps 2A SPSL League Meet at Orting




The Eatonville Cruisers cross country teams delivered dominant performances at the 2A SPSL League meet on Wednesday, capturing first place overall in both the boys’ and girls’ races at Orting Cardinal Stadium.


In the boys' race, junior Colton Rush led the charge for Eatonville, crossing the finish line in first place with a time of 17:35. Freshman Gabriel Kolsrud followed closely behind, securing second place with a personal best of 17:43, and sophomore Benjamin Bernt completed the Cruiser sweep of the top three with a time of 17:59.


Sophomore Titus Lowe finished sixth with a time of 19:12, adding crucial points for the Cruisers, while senior Joey Callon rounded out Eatonville’s top five with an eighth-place finish in 19:52. Junior Corey Demsey (19:55) also posted a top-10 finish, crossing the line in 10th place. Seniors Ethan Carter (23:02), Reed Monroe (25:17), and junior Jasper Beck (25:18) completed the strong showing for the Eatonville boys.


The Cruisers’ deep lineup proved too much for the Orting Cardinals to handle, securing a team victory with a commanding score.

In the girls' race, Eatonville junior Grace Coonrod took the top spot with a personal best of 19:50. Her teammate, junior Bridget Stumph, finished second in 21:48, also posting a personal best. Sophomore Hannah Bieker secured third place with a time of 22:25, completing an impressive 1-2-3 finish for the Cruisers.


Freshman Paisley Ashcroft contributed a strong fifth-place finish with a time of 25:05, while sophomore Savanna Price set a personal best of 34:26, finishing in 13th place. Junior Alice Alexander also recorded a personal best, crossing the line in 14th place with a time of 35:18, capping off the girls’ impressive team victory.

With both the boys and girls teams securing first-place finishes, Eatonville's cross country program continues to build momentum as the season progresses. The Cruisers now turn their focus to their next meet at Ft. Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, where they will face off against 10 other teams on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
