Eatonville Girls Win League Title, Boys Take Third

The Eatonville High School girls cross country team captured the 2A SPSL League Championship title Saturday, led by an individual victory from senior Grace Coonrod at Ft. Steilacoom Park.
The Cruiser girls secured the team championship with a dominant performance, placing three runners in the top five and all five scorers in the top 15. The Eatonville boys team also earned a spot on the podium, finishing third overall in the team standings.
Coonrod, a senior, ran away from the field to win the individual 2A SPSL girls' title, finishing the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:47.9.
Eatonville’s depth sealed the victory. Junior Hannah Bieker earned a fourth-place finish with a personal-record time of 21:34.1, followed immediately by senior Bridget Stumph in fifth place at 21:45.6.
The team’s scoring was rounded out by a pair of underclassmen who both ran personal-best times. Freshman Jenny Lowe placed ninth (22:26.3) and sophomore Audrey Mullins took 15th (23:19.5).
On the boys' side, the Cruisers were paced by senior Colton Rush, who cracked the top five with a fifth-place finish in 17:36.7.
Sophomore Gabriel Kolsrud was the team’s second finisher, placing 12th with a time of 18:33.7. Junior Titus Lowe was close behind, finishing 14th in 18:38.5.
Senior Corey Dempsey (21st, 18:58.7) and sophomore Blayne Cabana (53rd, 22:35.5) completed the scoring for the third-place boys' team.
Both Eatonville teams have qualified for the upcoming 2A Westside Classic District 3 Championships held at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place.
