Ethan Rogers Claims 2nd at Muilenburg Tournament, Strong Effort by Eatonville Wrestlers

The Eatonville Cruiser wrestling teams showcased resilience and skill during a packed week of competition, hosting a double dual meet on Thursday, Dec. 12, and traveling to La Grande, Oregon, for tournaments Dec. 13-14.

Double Dual Matches: Dec. 12


Boys vs. Washington High School

The Cruisers faced a tough 48-33 loss against Washington despite several standout performances.

  • 126 lbs: Teagan Croppi (Eatonville) pinned Ivan Ngeunhahak (Washington).

  • 132 lbs: Justen Koch (Eatonville) pinned Ray Bussell (Washington).

  • 165 lbs: Trey StaRosa (Eatonville) won by injury default over Kai`lee Hale (Washington).

  • 175 lbs: Jarin Ragazzo (Eatonville) pinned Cruz Curiel (Washington).

  • 215 lbs: Ethan Rogers (Eatonville) pinned Orielly Tuivaiave (Washington).

  • 285 lbs: Aaron Tozier (Eatonville) secured a narrow 7-5 decision victory over Michael Lefeau (Washington).


Boys vs. Steilacoom High School

In a tightly contested match, Eatonville fell short, 41-38.

  • 106 lbs: Carter Dietsche (Eatonville) won by forfeit.

  • 113 lbs: Nevada Bryarly (Eatonville) pinned Ethan Nicholson (Steilacoom).

  • 138 lbs: Ethan Taylor (Eatonville) pinned Aiden Nicholson (Steilacoom).

  • 144 lbs: Ryder McFadden (Eatonville) edged Sterling Officer (Steilacoom) in a 12-10 decision.

  • 157 lbs: Trey StaRosa (Eatonville) pinned Anthony Martinez (Steilacoom).

  • 190 lbs: Charles Emery (Eatonville) won by forfeit.

  • 215 lbs: Ethan Rogers (Eatonville) achieved a dominant technical fall, 17-1, over Joseph Junod (Steilacoom).


Girls vs. Washington High School

The Eatonville girls earned a narrow 12-6 victory.

  • 100 lbs: Olivia Cole (Eatonville) pinned Journy Casabar (Washington).

  • 105 lbs: Najalia "Nala" Baublits (Eatonville) pinned Miranda Zuniga Zuniga (Washington).


Girls vs. Steilacoom High School

The Cruisers fell 9-6 against Steilacoom.

  • 155 lbs: Angel Garcia (Eatonville) won by forfeit.

  • 170 lbs: Makenzie Ball (Eatonville) dropped a close 7-6 decision to Amina Thomas (Steilacoom).


Tournaments in La Grande, OR: Dec. 13-14


Muilenburg Tournament (Boys)


The Eatonville boys finished 9th out of 16 teams, with several wrestlers making deep runs in their brackets.


  • 132 lbs: Justen Koch won Consolation 1st place, pinning Logan Gonzalez (Bishop Kelly HS) in 1:38.

  • 138 lbs: Mark Devera claimed Consolation 1st place by injury default over teammate Ethan Taylor.

  • 138 lbs: Ethan Taylor battled through consolation rounds but was unable to wrestle in the finals due to injury, finishing as runner-up by default.

  • 144 lbs: Ryder McFadden picked up two victories on the day.

  • 157 lbs: Trey StaRosa won Consolation 1st place, pinning Lane Gilbert (Banks HS) in 2:02.

  • 215 lbs: Jameson Beckord earned Consolation 1st place with a 2:40 pin over Ben Neil (Oregon City HS).

  • 215 lbs: Ethan Rogers finished 2nd, falling in the championship match to Dex Dunlap (La Grande HS) in a hard-fought 8-4 decision.

  • 285 lbs: Aaron Tozier won Consolation 1st place, pinning Nolan Harrop in 2:36.


Safeway Girls Buckle Classic (Girls)


The Eatonville girls placed 15th out of 20 teams, led by standout Najalia "Nala" Baublits.


  • 105 lbs: Baublits took 4th place, falling to Emmerson Jarman (Scappoose HS) by pin.


The Cruisers return to action next weekend  with the boys competing at the annual Roger's Holiday Tournament at Rogers High School in Puyallup on Dec. 21, while the girls team heads to the Lady Mountaineers Tournament at Rainier High School in Rainier, Wash., the same day.

The Cruisers will aim to continue building momentum with standout performances as the season progresses.
