Hornets Sting Cruisers 3-2
After taking a week off, the Cruisers hosted the 2A Enumclaw Hornets and lost a close one 3-2 this past Friday.
Senior Ashton Meyer would get the start on the mound for the Cruisers.
The Hornets wasted no time scoring. They would plate a run in the first inning when Dylan Watts doubled in Karson Holt to take a 1-0 lead.
Enumclaw would score again in the top half of the second when Casey Mergargle singled to left center scoring Emmit Otero and then Holt drove home Mergargle as he reached on an error by the third baseman to take a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second, Eatonville would get on the board. Ashton Meyer would reach base on an error and then with two outs, Skylar Sharpy would be hit by a pitch. That brought up Riley Storm. With two runners aboard, Storm would send a 2-1 pitch into right field to score both runners and pull the Cruisers within one run at 3-2.

Both teams would hold each other scoreless for the remainder of the game and Enumclaw would pick up the 3-2 win to improve to 5-1 on the season and drop the Cruisers to 1-3.
Karson Holt would pick up the win for the Hornets with Garrett Chavis being credited with the save.
The Cruisers Ashton Meyer would pitch two innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits and an error and walking 2 batters. He would be credited with the loss.
Payton Hanly came in the game in relief and threw 5 scoreless innings only allowing 3 hits and striking out 3 Hornet batters.
Eatonville would be held to only two hits on the day. Riley Storm would go 1-3 with a single driving in two Cruiser runs and would swipe a base. Payton Hanly would go 1-2 with a single and Ashton Meyer would go 1-3 with a single and score a run.
Next up, the Cruisers will host the Rainier Mountaineers on Monday at 4 pm. They will then open up league play on Tuesday hosting the Elma Eagles in a double-header. The first game will start at 3:00 pm with the second scheduled to start at 5:00 pm. The Cruisers will then travel to Elma on Thursday, March 31st for a game at 4:00 pm. They will finish off the week with a night game against the Spanaway Lake Sentinels at Cheney Stadium at 7:00 pm. Tickets for that game are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets for that game can be purchased at the Eatonville High School office (100% of tickets sales go to Eatonville) or can be bought at the game on the day of the game, however, those ticket sales will be split with the opposing team. So you are encouraged to buy your tickets at the EHS office.
