Knights Thwart Cruiser Upset Bid

The 5th-ranked King's Way Christian Knights came to Eatonville this past Saturday and spoiled the Cruisers' first district playoff appearance in seven years.

The underdog Cruisers put everything into this game only to come up short in the last 5 minutes with a winning goal by the Knights that ended the Cruiser's hopes for an upset.

The defense dominated the effort by stopping the Knights with over 50 quality defensive plays, and 20 blocks/saves by goalkeeper Nathaniel Goode. Trentten Cressman led the way with 13 quality defensive plays, and Josiah Goode, Nicholas Holder, and Jake Brannon all finished with 7 each.

The only goal was scored by Riley Rockey that he played through with authority. Kevin Tomyn got the assist.

That loss dropped the Cruisers into the consolation bracket where they will need to win their next two games to clinch a berth into the State tournament, something Eatonville has not done since 2002.

Next Up: The Cruisers will host the Raymond Seagulls at home Tuesday, May 9th at 7 pm in a loser-out contest.
