Lady Cruisers Pick Up First Win

Dakota Smith heads to mid field after scoring one of her two goals in the Cruisers 4-0 victory over Clover Park.

The Cruisers hadn’t played a home match yet this season. Playing at home always has a different feel. They proved that this past Saturday when they defeated the Clover Park Warriors 4-0 to pick up their first win of the season.

Scoring for the Cruisers were Dakota Smith (2 goals), Jordyn Wilcox (1), and Alex Lambert (1). Providing the assists for those goals were Kennedy Noble (2 assists) and Michelle Kahler (1).

After struggling this season to pick up their first win, Head Coach Machaela Swartout said,

“After a few tough losses and a tie, it was great to see the commitment and perseverance this team continues to show finally pay off. Every single player got ample minutes and it's very exciting as a coach to see the depth we have on our team. I'm very proud of these girls and can't wait to see what the remainder of the season holds for us!”

The Cruisers look to add to the win column this week as they take on the Orting Cardinals on Thursday at Cardinal Stadium in Orting. Kick off I scheduled for 7:00 pm. They will then face the Yelm Tornadoes on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Yelm HS.
