Lady Cruisers Sink Pirates, 23-0

The Lady Cruiser softball team continued to show their dominance at the plate and in the field this past Friday afternoon when they shut out the Vashon Pirates 23-0 in another mercy-rule shortened five-inning game.

Pitchers Berkeley Porter and Sara Smith combined to shut out the Pirates, only allowing 1 hit on the day while striking out six Vashon batters.
At the plate, Dakota Smith and her younger sister Charlie would lead the Cruisers. Dakota would go 2-3 with a home run, 5 RBI, and score 3 runs while her younger sister Charlie went 1-2 at the plate with a home run as well, driving in 5 runs, scoring 3 runs, and swiped a base. Senior Grace Bamford would drive in 3 Cruiser runs on the day going 1-3 at the plate and scoring 2 runs.
Next week, the Cruisers will travel to Elma to play a double-header against the Eagles on Tuesday, March, 29th. The first game is scheduled for 3:00 pm with the second game scheduled for a 5:00 pm start. The Cruisers will finish off the week hosting the Elma Eagles on Thursday to finish off their 3 game set. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
