Lady Cruisers Sweep Elma To Improve to 6-1
The Lady Cruiser fastpitch teamed opened up league play and hit a total of 9 home runs in their 3-game series last week with Elma and outscored the Eagles 44-10 in those 3 games to win all three and pick up the sweep to improve to 6-1 on the season.
In the first game of their doubleheader on Tuesday, Dakota Smith started the home run barrage in the top of the second inning and helped power the Cruisers to a 14-1 victory.
Smith would hit two home runs in the game, going 2-3 with those two home runs and drove in 4 runs. Hailey Rath would continue her home run tour with another bomb in the 4th inning. She would finish the game going 3-4 at the plate with a home run, a double, and drove in 4 runs. Berkeley Porter also got in on the home run party with one of her own, going 4-4 at the plate with that home run and 3 RBI.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Brooke Blocker would hit one out of the park in the bottom of the 5th on her way to a 3-4 day with a home run, 2 doubles, 4 runs scored, and 4 runs driven in to help propel the Cruisers to a 20-9 win. Rath would hit another home run in this game as well.
In the final game of their 3 game series, the Cruisers hosted Elma and continued their dominance of the Eagles.
Brook Blocker would again homer, not once but three times on the day as she went 4-4 with 4 RBI, 3 home runs, a double, and 4 runs scored as the Cruisers shutout the Eagles 10-0.

The Cruisers are now sitting at 6-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.
The Lady Cruisers as a team have now hit 19 home runs in 7 games with Rath leading the way with 7 home runs. That total ranks her in 1st place in all classifications in the state of Washington. Blocker trails her by 1 with 6 and ranks 2nd in the state in that category.
Eatonville will host the Tenino Beavers in a double-header on Tuesday, April 5th . The first game will start at 3:00 pm with the second scheduled to start at 5:00 pm. They will then finish off their 3 game series in Tenino on Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
