Volleyball

Last week was a challenging one for a few of the Eatonville Cruiser sports teams. The Eatonville Cruiser volleyball team faced a tough set of matches and unfortunately dropped all three of them. Their week started with a closely contested match on Monday against Morton-White Pass, which ended in a 3-2 loss. On Wednesday, they faced Toledo and lost 3-0. The week ended on a similar note with another 3-2 loss to Morton-White Pass on Friday. The Cruiser volleyball team remains winless and is eager to turn things around in the upcoming matches against Rochester and Vashon before entering Evergreen 1A league play next week.

Boy’s Tennis

The Eatonville Cruiser boy’s tennis team also had a tough week, losing both of their matches. On Tuesday, they were defeated 5-0 by Klahowya, and they closed out the week with another 5-0 loss, this time against the Cascade Christian Cougars. Like their volleyball counterparts, the boy’s tennis team is still in search of their first win and hopes to reverse their fortunes in upcoming matches against Life Christian Academy and East Jefferson high schools.

Swimming

In contrast, the Eatonville Cruiser swim team had a promising start to their season with their first meet at home against Black Hills. Despite having fewer swimmers than the Black Hills team, the Cruiser girls put up a strong fight and came close to securing a victory for the meet. They had first-place finishes in 7 out of 11 events, including notable performances like Annika Howard's win in the 200 Free and Kaylee Bernt's first place in the 200 IM with a District qualifying time. Gracie Forsman also achieved a District qualifying time in the 50 Free and the 100 Breaststroke. The team's next home meet is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th, against Tumwater at 4:00 pm. The Cruiser swim team is off to a promising start and aims to continue improving throughout the season.
